The Summit in your area will be held on Historically Black Colleges and Universities in partnership with National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education NAFEO The Umbrella Organization for HBCUs under the leadership of President and CEO, Lezli Baskerville, Esq. The Summit bridges the gap between members of the community and representatives from business, education, government, healthcare, and law enforcement. They will be the foundation for policy reform, job opportunities, educational programs, and for providing access to institutional resources of funding and support.

Dr. Tanis King Starck is a psychologist and national thought leader in the area of cultural proficiency.

  • Dr. Starck is an expert in the Art of Cultural Transformation training model providing comprehensive professional development services that embrace diversity, inclusion and equity practices. As Assistant Dean, Cultural Proficiency, Division of Academic Engagement and Student Achievement, San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, she developed the first Cultural Proficiency Minor and Cultural Competency Professional Development Certificate Program/CES (World Campus). Dr. Starck is leading, through her extensive knowledge and experience, the content development efforts of the RESPECT US Summits.
